On January 16, 2010, Officer Gerald Von Steffen was promoted the rank of Sergeant.
On February 26, 2009, a promotion ceremony was held at Police Headquarters for Ramon Antonio Ferrer-Ramos.
He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. He has been with the PD since Jan 2001. He will be working District 3 nights. Ramon has been a Crisis Negotiator since Dec 2004. Prior to coming to the PD, he retired from the U.S. Army in July 2000.
There were 9 new officers sworn-in on Dec 1, 2010.
David Hooper, Maurice Nesbitt, Dennis Honholt, Chris Cunningham, Arthur Bing, Mayor Piper, Bryan Wood, Zachary “Zack” Upton, Jason Smock, and Ryan Pope.
On September 25, 2009, Patrick Seay was promoted to the rank of Sergeant.
OFFICER JUSTIN BAILEY RECEIVES EMPLOYEE AWARD
On July 17, 2009, Chief Ansley presented the Lifesavers Award to Officer Justin Bailey. On April 10, 2009, Officer Bailey responded to a call of a child that had choked and stopped breathing. Officer Bailey performed CPR and his quick response and life saving actions were instrumental in saving the life of the two year old child.
NATIONAL PEACE OFFICERS MEMORIAL DAY May 15, 2009
On May 15, 2009, the Clarksville Police Department hosted a National Peace Officers Memorial service for all local law enforcement. During the service Leiutenant David Crockarell presented Chief Ansley with Officer David Scott’s rifle, which after being severely damaged, was refurbished with the help of some local businesses. The rifle is now on display at the Police Department.

Trina Scott, the widow of Officer David Scott, presented the awards at the competition.

Medal of Valor to Officer Alexander Koziol
On the 15 th of January 2008, Officer Koziol, along with other members from his shift,
responded to a bank robbery in progress at F&M Bank located at 2601 Wilma Rudolph Blvd.
It was soon discovered that the blue van fleeing the scene was being driven by a hostage
that the bank robbery suspect had abducted. Officer Koziol and other officers stopped the
fleeing vehicle in the road way next to Wal-Mart located at 3050 Wilma Rudolph Blvd.
As Officer Koziol approached and challenged the robbery suspect in the van, he encountered
a life threatening situation and was forced to save the life of the hostage and himself
by making a split-second decision in a highly volatile situation.
Officer Koziol’s actions during this entire stressful event are without question and
are considered extremely valorous. He placed his own safety at risk to protect the
life of another. Officer Koziol is a hero among heroes. His actions bring great credit
upon himself, his family, and the Clarksville Police Department.
