Captain Donald C. Gipson
A veteran of the United States Army and has served with the Clarksville Police Department since September of 1994. He has served as a Field Training Officer, gang and narcotics agent and was a member of the department's tactical unit for 11 years. Captain Gipson has successfully completed the basic and advanced sniper courses, as well as the high risk warrant, hostage rescue, school incident and explosive breaches' course. Captain Gipson has completed the National Tactical Officers Association Tactical Unit Leadership Course and commanded the 19 officer tactical unit for 5 years. He is a graduate of the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command. Captain Gipson served as the District Three Commander until July 2011. Currently, he is Commander of the Special Operations Unit.
