Chief Ansley was born in Birmingham, Alabama. He was employed by the Clarksville Police Department on May 1, 1987. He earned a degree in Criminal Justice from Austin Peay State University in 1987. Ansley was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 1992 and promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in 1997. He was a member of the Tactical Unit for five years and served as Tactical Unit Commander. Ansley was promoted to the rank of Captain in 2001. He graduated from Northwestern Police Staff and Command School in 2001. Ansley was promoted to Chief on September 25, 2007. He has since graduated from the 231st session of the FBI National Academy on December 14, 2007.

This information can be utilized by concerned citizens to assist them in taking steps to reduce and/or elimate criminal offenses and to also assist the police department to solve crimes. Information will include statistics relating to incidence of crimes by type and geographic location. Other area of interest are special program and employment, community programs, phone numbers, press releases, and a history of the department.
